This is How We Do It

Doesn't the vest remind you of vintage Versace? I really wish it was but it's just a regular vintage vest from an unknown brand. But, who really cares it looks great! I decided to pair the vest with some distressed jeans that I bought awhile back from Cotton On. I bought these jeans last year during the Black Friday mayhem and to be honest, I did not have faith that they would last more than a few months; however to my surprise they did. I HIGHLY recommend purchasing Cotton On's jeans the quality is amazing! My pair still looks great and it has almost been a year!

Head Over Heels
Did you get the Tears for Fears reference in the title? I am a 90s child by birth, but lately I have been getting a lot of my fashion inspiration from the 80s. I attribute my newly found obsession to binge watching The Carrie Diaries on Netflix. Back then, fashion was fun, wild and daring. Bold prints, outrageous lipstick colors and neon clothing could be found on any street corner. All of these reasons were why I wanted to bring a little bit of the 80s to the 2000s.
I am not sure what I loved most about this outfit--the leopard skirt or the black crop top. Both of them had a place in the 80s (think leopard leotards)!

J I M I
The one thing I love about Senegalese twist is that they are soo versatile! I can literally change my hairstyle to suit whatever type of outfit i'm rockin'. That's when I decided to wear this punk rock look, I knew I could easily put my hair in a style that would match the look I was going for.
After taking a second glimpse at these photos, I realized that this outfit reminds me of Gwen Stefani back in the day. You know, when she would wear camouflage and had that Rastafarian look. She's always been a style icon in my book!
